Update Frequency

As we source our information from a number of different sources, the rate at which data is updated is dependent on a number of external factors. Where possible, our update frequencies are as follows:

  • Postcodes: New postcodes are added at the end of each month, with bulk updates to geo-locations and retirement of old postcodes happening quarterly (end of Feb/May/Aug/Nov).

  • Demographics: Demographic data is based on the census, the last of which was performed in 2011. The census is performed every 10 years.

  • Constituencies, Wards and Local Authorities: Updates are made quarterly (end of Feb/May/Aug/Nov), in line with our postcode updates mentioned above.

  • NHS Facilities (England): Updates are made weekly, on Tuesday mornings.

  • NHS Facilities (Northern Ireland and Scotland): Updates are made approximately quarterly, although exact timings are not available in advance. Automatic checks for updated data are performed weekly, on Tuesday mornings.

  • NHS Facilities (Wales): Updates are made twice yearly, at the end of April and October.

  • Broadband: Updates are made weekly, on Tuesday mornings.

  • Schools (England and Wales): Updates are made weekly, on Tuesday mornings.

  • Schools (Northern Ireland and Scotland): Updates are made approximately quarterly, although exact timings are not available in advance. Automatic checks for updated data are performed weekly, on Tuesday mornings.

  • London Tube and DLR Stations: Updates are made weekly, on Tuesday mornings.

  • Railway Stations: Updates are made weekly, on Tuesday mornings. In practice, data is rarely changed as the construction and decommissioning of stations is very uncommon.
